This policy applies to all information collected or submitted on Lookmark’s website and our apps for any devices and platforms (hereinafter collectively called "Lookmark").

By installing our mobile application or in other way using or accessing Lookmark, you accept the terms and conditions of this privacy policy and the processing of your personal data.

Your personal data is processed in accordance with the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR").

Information and personal data we collect

If you choose to create a user account, we collect the following:

  • Email address
  • Password
  • Information about your iOS device:
    • Language, region and time zone settings
    • Device model and iOS version
    • The country of your iTunes account / Apple ID
    • App version and Bundle ID
  • When you change the settings in Lookmark, most of them are saved to our servers.

If you choose to purchase a Lookmark Plus subscription, we collect the following:

  • Subscription type
  • Purchase date
  • Expire date
  • Free trial status
  • Price and currency
  • Transaction ID

For subscriptions, the payment transaction is handled by Apple which means we don't have access to your payment details such as credit card information.

All content saved by you to Lookmark is stored on our servers so it can be synced between all devices where you use Lookmark.

We collect analytics data about how you use Lookmark. That information will make it possible for us to improve Lookmark, but will never be shared with anyone in a way that reveals your identity.

If you enable push notifications, your device gives us a token that we store on our servers to be able to send them. At any time, you can turn push notifications off in the app settings and/or the settings of your device. Push notifications are never used for marketing purposes.

We might use cookies on the site and similar tokens in the app to keep you logged in.


We use the information we collect to operate and improve Lookmark.

Your account information is used for:

  • Logging in.
  • Providing the right features for you depending on your subscription type and status.
  • Resetting your password in case you loose it.
  • Sending you important information regarding your account.
  • Sending you occasional newsletters or promotional materials that you will be able to unsubscribe to.

We may use anonymous and aggregate information to improve Lookmark for users, and to share with outside parties like app developers and publishers.

We will never share your personal data with anyone except the external services described in the "External Services" section. In addition, we may share your personal data in any of the circumstances described below.

We may disclose your information in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or to defend against legal claims.

We may disclose your information when we believe it necessary or desirable in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of our policies, and/or to protect our rights and property.

In the future, we may sell, buy, merge, or partner with other companies or businesses. In such transactions, user information collected for the above purposes may be among the transferred assets.

Storing of Personal Data

We keep your personal data as long as you have an account on Lookmark. At any time, you can choose to delete your account. We will then delete your personal data and all account information except in cases where it is necessary to keep for the fulfilment of rights or obligations under GDPR.

External Services

Lookmark uses the following external services for things like data storage, syncing, email delivery, crash reporting, and analytics.

CloudStrap / SashiDo

Purpose: CloudStrap provides the service SashiDo which Lookmark uses to store and process all user data. SashiDo’s physical infrastructure is hosted and managed within Amazon’s secure data centers and utilize the Amazon Web Service (AWS) technology.

Purpose: Apple handles the transaction and payment details for users who make an in-app purchase. In addition, push notifications to iOS devices are delivered by Apple.

Personal data sent to Fabric: When we send you a push notification, we provide Apple with the device token of your device so that the notification can be delivered.

Purpose: Fabric is used to automatically collect analytics data and crash reports from users running the iOS app.

Personal data sent to Fabric:

  • A unique device id used to keep track of unique number of users etc.
  • IP address - once received by Fabric it is geo-coded to give us information about where in the world Lookmark is currently being used. Retained temporarily.
  • With crash reports, a user identifier is included to better be able to help users having issues. The user identifier can't be tracked to the user unless you have access to the user database, which Fabric does not have.

Purpose: Mailgun is used to send email to users.

Personal data sent to Fabric: All email information is stored temporarily by Mailgun in order for them to deliver the email.

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that all integrated external services are trustworthy and reputable. We will ask them to verify that they comply with GDPR.


The security and integrity of your personal data is important to us and we implement a variety of security measures. However, no system can be 100% secure and despite our efforts, there is always a risk of unauthorized access to your personal data. By using Lookmark, you assume this risk.

In case we are made aware of that there has been a data breach or any kind of intrusion to the personal data collected by Lookmark, we will inform affected users.

Third-party links and content

Lookmark displays content from third-party app developers and publishers. These have their own independent privacy policies, and we have no responsibility or liability for their content or activities.


We do not knowingly collect any personal data from children under the age of 13 and Lookmark does not target children under 13.

Changing and deleting information

At any time you can change your information or delete your account from within the Lookmark app.
